Aaron grew up in the bustling capital city of San Jose, Costa Rica with his mother and father, and two siblings. Aaron's dream was to become an American Citizen and to start a business in the Land of Opportunity, the United States of America. At the young age of 17, Aaron encouraged his family to leave San Jose, Costa Rica and move to Charlotte, North Carolina where Aaron became a North Carolina Licensed General Contractor and bought his first house at the age of 18 through hard work and determination.
In his twenties, as a North Carolina Licensed General Contractor and minority business owner, Aaron renovated many of the major hotels you can still see gracing the beautiful skyline of Charlotte today. While running a large construction company, Aaron saw many Latino youth in Charlotte's Latino community becoming involved in gang-related activities and crime. Therefore, Aaron created Generation 5:17 Ministries, a nonprofit organization in Charlotte, which hosted large-scale Christian concerts and a weekly local Spanish radio programs to encourage Latino youth in Charlotte to focus on graduating from high school, attending college, and pursuing the careers God had in store for their life.
Aaron was also mentored by his dear friend, the late First Latino-Elected County Commissioner in Charlotte, Dan Ramirez, who encouraged Aaron to consider becoming a Mecklenburg County Commissioner one day to serve Mecklenburg County. Additionally, Aaron served on the Workforce Board of Directors of Goodwill in Charlotte and served the homeless on a weekly basis in Uptown.
In his mid-twenties, Aaron attended Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA to pursue a career in Architecture and to become more of an expert in his craft of building and designing residential construction projects, in addition to working on his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) in cities like Toronto, Canada and Seattle, Washington. While studying Architecture in Atlanta, Aaron met and married his wife, Brooke. After Brooke graduated from Charlotte School of Law, Aaron and Brooke began their family and built a successful custom home building company serving Charlotte and Lake Norman clientele, Marin Development Company. Aaron and his team built stunning homes around Charlotte and in the Lake Norman area that are still considered some of the most beautiful homes today and have won numerous awards for craftsmanship and architectural design.
Today, Aaron owns FreshWater Lending serving Buyers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Having accomplished the American Dream of Homeownership when he was only 18, Aaron's career in Building Development, Architectural Design, and Residential Mortgage Lending has made him who he is today, a proven and experienced business leader who is ready to serve and represent the interests of his neighbors in Mecklenburg County, where he has lived, worked, and served alongside his family for over 23 years.
