Aaron R. Marin is an entrepreneur, business owner, and community leader with more than two decades of experience in the financial industry, commercial development, and housing infrastructure.
Born in San José, Costa Rica, Aaron grew up in a hardworking family that believed in faith, discipline, and opportunity. As a teenager, he made the decision to relocate to the United States, determined to build businesses that would create jobs and expand access to opportunity for families.
Over the past 25 years, Aaron has built and led multiple companies in construction, development, and mortgage finance. His early career in architectural design, subdivision development, and commercial projects gave him firsthand experience in how infrastructure shapes communities — from roads and zoning to public safety and long-term planning. The commercial properties and large-scale renovations he helped deliver remain part of Charlotte’s skyline today, serving major banks, offices, and hospitality developments that support the region’s economic growth.
Aaron later transitioned fully into financial services and founded United Mortgage of America, which has expanded across the Southeast United States with active branches in multiple states. Under his leadership, the company has supported entrepreneurs, created opportunities for independent loan professionals, and helped families achieve homeownership. His work in the mortgage industry has focused on expanding access, improving operational efficiency, and building scalable systems that strengthen local economies.
As a business owner, Aaron understands budgeting, risk management, regulatory compliance, payroll, and accountability. He has managed multi-state operations, built teams, and created jobs — experience that directly translates into disciplined governance and responsible oversight of public funds.

After more than two decades of living, building businesses, and raising a family in North Carolina, Aaron is running for Mecklenburg County Commissioner to bring executive leadership, financial discipline, and long-term vision to local government.
